“Bye Bye Kimberley for 2016, see you next year!”
After the completion of our last Kimberley Tour for the 2016 season, it is time for Charter North 4WD Safaris to say good bye to the Kimberley Region, at least for now. Of course we will be back, with a number of Kimberley Tours already confirmed for the 2017 season. Can’t wait!
It’s funny with the Kimberley Region. Somehow, this place has such a magic to it, such a unique power that makes you miss this beautiful area as soon as you leave it, and draws you back again and again. Even as a tour operator, going back over and over every year, we at Charter North never tire of the Kimberley. It’s magic!
2016 was a great year for us at Charter North 4WD Safaris! We started the season with some rather interesting (should I say unusual? But what’s usual anymore?) weather events (namely unexpected rain). But our guests handled the situation like real adventurers and it actually made the tour even more exciting. The country needed the water badly, too. This late top up to the Kimberley’s waterways was great, and good for our next guests: a lovely family from Switzerland. What fun we had hiking, swimming, exploring! The family of five with three gorgeous (as well as fit & brave!) power girls were real nature lovers and embraced the Kimberley with open hearts and ready for adventure. An unforgettable trip! It is always a pleasure to see such appreciation for our stunning Kimberley environments. Our scheduled mixed group departures in 2016 were great as well. Lovely tour guests and very compatible groups made for very enjoyable Kimberley Tours which we will build on in 2017. Charter North finished up the Kimberley season with a relaxed 13 Day Kimberley Private Charter. Four lovely travellers, again from Switzerland (although two of them live in NSW Australia and are real Ozzies now) made this last trip another fantastic experience. “No rush, we are on holidays” was the credo of this group, and everybody enjoyed some quality time exploring and making the most of swimming opportunities such as Manning Gorge and Bell Gorge.

Wow, what a great year! Charter North 4WD Safaris still have some Kakadu and Top End Tours booked in before finishing up the 2016 Top End tour season, but we are already planning for next year.
For those who are keen to explore the Top End in our “Green Season“, we will be running our successful 3 and 4 Day Kakadu & Litchfield Combo Tours again from early 2017.
New in 2017, Charter North will be offering active 8 Day Kimberley Tours – “the Kimberley unleashed” – for those who are keen on hiking, exploring, swimming and camping, and generally experiencing the Kimberley in an active and adventurous way. Our 10 Day Kimberley Tours will remain for anyone whit a little extra holiday time to spare, and include Mitchell Falls in addition to all other Kimberley attractions.
All in all, we at Charter North had a very rewarding tour season 2016, with great feedback and some new inspiration for next year. We are constantly building on our experience, taking into account our guests’ feedback and current trends to further improve our Kimberley and Kakadu & Beyond Tour programs from season to season!
