We at Charter North 4WD Safaris would like to take the opportunity to wish all of our friends, guests, future guests, supporters and followers a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017!
We hope 2016 has been as great a year for you as it has been for us. We have achieved many milestones thanks to hard work as well as the support of many friends and industry partners. We would like to thank all of our guests for travelling with us in 2016, and are looking forward to welcoming our future guests in 2017! We would also like to thank all those who have directly or indirectly supported our business in growing since our foundation in 2012.
As our third year of operation comes to an end, we have already received an overwhelming interest in our tours for 2017. We have been able to increase our bookings significantly compared to previous years, and are very excited to show so many enthusiastic travelers around our beautiful Kimberley, Kakadu & Top End environments next year!
La nina is here!
Very importantly, we are glad to see that it seems as if “La Nina” has finally arrived, with Northern Australia receiving record rainfalls this month and hopefully more to come. We are so happy to witness the country receiving this much needed rain, after the last few years being rather dry. It is a great relief for country and wildlife. The rain will of course also contribute to a great tour season 2017, with more surface water around thanks to a big top up of water which will hopefully allow for rivers and waterfalls to flow longer into the season.
Of course, the rain also has it’s challenges…
Nevertheless, we are happy for (and maybe a little bit jealous of) all the lucky people who get to witness the remote Top End and in particular the Kimberley Region and the Kimberley plateau area along the Gibb River Road through this great wet season. With rivers flooding and waterfalls pumping, what a great experience!
If you wish to learn more about what it’s like to live along the Gibb River Road over the wet season, you might be interested in following Jess on social media. She has been busy posting some great pics taken around her home at the Mount Barnett Roadhouse, halfway up the Gibb River road between Kununurra and Derby.
Now, we won’t hold you up any longer and will leave you to your New Year’s Eve preparations. Have a great night, enjoy, and keep working on those travel plans for 2017!
All the best and warm wishes, Alina & Greig.
